It started with a couple of circles and a couple of rectangles, and was constructed entirely from those parts, and parts made from those parts! For the uppercase, I took style inspiration from the heavy serif classics like Cooper, Korinna, and Goudy. But when it came time to create the lowercase set, I took a sharp turn and looked to fun unicase fonts like Pupcat and Pharmacy, creating uppercase-height lowercase letters, in addition to uppercase alternates. So I made Breakfast Pastry! I started with a hand-drawn set of basic letters, then went hog-wild making alternates and ligatures galore with fun swirls, curls, and even more balls. TONS OF BALLS! I’ve cleaned the letters up significantly to make them smooth and easy for any cutting or printing you may want to do, but I’ve also left in some of the hand-drawn character so that the fonts are warmer and not too formal. Boisterous is a font that started out simple—a nice handwriting style with a single stroke width.
